John Denver became a star with the folk-based songs he composed, the majority of which were located in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell, New Mexico. He fell in love Colorado and settled down in Aspen. Denver's iconic anthems for Colorado are a source of inspiration for many to make the move to Colorado. G. Brown the curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame said that John Denver was by far one of the most well-known musicians who was a symbol of Colorado. Denver was the initial Hall of Fame inductee in 2011. Many consider Denver to be the Colorado image. Through my travels I've encountered people who are from New Zealand or the other side. When you tell them you're from Colorado the first words they'll say is"Oh John Denver. Brown stated. Denver's first Top 10 hit as a solo artist after a short period of performing with small folk-based bands included Take Me Home Country Roads composed by Bill Danoff. Danoff initially wrote the song with Johnny Cash's music in mind, but Denver realized from the first time he heard the early versions that the song was going to be an instant hit. The song was recorded just two weeks following that Washington D.C. performance.
